Being established in 1958 and subordinate to China Federation of the Disabled, Beijing Massage Hospital is the birthplace of China's modern undertakings of medical massage by blind people.It was registered at Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is one of the appointed specialized Hospital for the basic medical ensurance in Beijing and is also appointed as a foreign-related hospital by Beijing Tourism Management Bureau and the Public Health Bureau as well.

Covering a land area of 3582m2 and a floor area of 2755 m2 ,it has totally 80 full scale staff and more than half of the professional doctor are blindmen.While succeeding and carrying on the traditional Chinese massage technique, the hospital has devoted its major efforts to combine traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine.

For over 40 years of exploration and practice, it has gradually formed a service pattern and feature with manipulation treatment taking the first position and comprehensive traditional Chinese and Western medical services playing a supporting role. The hospital has achieved remarkable success in treating over one hundred kinds of disease, including cervical spondylopathy ,protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc, periarthritis of shoulder joint,pediatric cerebral palsy,infantile torticollis.

The hospital is mainly composed of several professional departments respectively for massage,acupuncture and moxibustion,physiotherapy,x-ray,laboratory and etc.The hospital also has an inpatient department to provide hospitalization service.
