International Participants of the "Practical Acupuncture Techniques Training Program for Developing Countries" Visited the Hospital for Exchange

To further promote traditional Chinese medicine culture and advance TCM diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, the hospital received 45 international participants from the "Practical Acupuncture Techniques Training Program for Developing Countries" on November 15. The training program, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and hosted by Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, attracted participants from 12 countries including Ethiopia, Bulgaria, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka.

At the exchange meeting, Yang Yang, Director of the Medical Massage Department at the hospital, provided an overview of Beijing Massage Hospital. Xue Nan, a chief medical massage therapist, presented the origins, technical characteristics, and therapeutic applications of TCM tuina, followed by a Q&A session with the trainees. After the meeting, participants toured specialized departments including the tuina Department, Pediatrics Department, Acupuncture Department, and Rehabilitation Department, gaining in-depth insights into therapeutic techniques such as TCM tuina, acupuncture, herbal plaster application, and rehabilitation therapy. During the tour and exchange, attendees expressed a strong interest in TCM treatment methods, noting that they had personally experienced the distinctive aspects of TCM diagnosis and treatment and appreciated its cultural significance. They pledged to further study TCM techniques and promote their application.
